Gift Idea- DIY heat therapy bag

Happy Monday! The school where I work has a teacher inservice day today, so I have been enjoying a day off at home! Our weekend was busy with my brother visiting and building a guitar in the garage with Zach so a bonus day off is extra nice. 🙂

Anyway, I wanted to announce the winner of Friday’s giveaway… there were only 2 entries so I just flipped a coin! Congratulations to Sarah- the Mailmonster! Email me at fleurdelisedesign @ gmail to choose your camera strap cover and give me an address to ship your prize. 🙂

I also wanted to share a great gift idea with you. This is probably the best gift I ever gave my husband… at the very least, it’s the one that gets the most use! It’s a heat therapy bag… filled with rice, once heated in the microwave, it’s a relaxing heating pad. He usually uses it on his neck and shoulders which are always tense.

AND, it’s a quick and cheap gift to make! I followed this tutorial at Sew, Mama, Sew! Rice Heat Therapy Bag. I omitted the essential oils because I couldn’t find a scent that I thought Zach would like enough. I’d estimate that you can spend about $10 or less on this gift and depending on what fabrics you use, you can make it unique for any recipient.

Anyway, thought I’d share the idea and point you towards a great tutorial. I’m going to go finish up the fabric flower bouquet so that I can show you all how to finish it tomorrow!
